The Fambliss KOMPASS system

The visual guide through everyday family life.

In short: The Fambliss KOMPASS system turns daily transitions into a visible path that children can follow on their own.

A therapy-inspired visual system for structure and transitions, made for children.

Where, What, How far.

The magnetic board shows where the routine happens. The card shows what to do. The light shows how far your child has already got.

Why we developed this system.

Transitions are among the most demanding moments of the day for children. Getting up, getting dressed, leaving the house, coming home, tidying up or going to bed: several steps often have to be remembered, put in order and carried out one after another.

That is why we developed the Fambliss KOMPASS system.

The visual transition system combines a fixed magnetic board, child-friendly routine cards and interactive puck lights into a clear to-do list for children.

The routine cards show which steps are coming up. The magnetic board puts them in a clear order. The lights underneath make visible which tasks are still open and which are already done.

After each completed step your child switches off the matching light. A spoken instruction becomes an understandable sequence, with visible progress and a clear ending.

The KOMPASS system helps children keep a better overview of routines, anticipate transitions and handle them more and more on their own.

Clear steps. Visible progress. Secure transitions.

What is lit is still open. What goes out is done.

That is the whole mechanic. Light on means open, light off means done, and your child does the switching. That way the finish belongs to the child and not to a parent's reminder.

Six principles it rests on.

This way transitions can become calmer and easier to follow, especially for children who benefit a lot from visual structure, repetition and clear sequences.

What the system is, and what it is not.

Fambliss is a therapy-inspired visual system for structure and transitions, made for children and developed along the principles of visual structure, small-step action planning and children's sense of self-efficacy.

It is not a medical device and not a remedy. We also do not call it a therapeutic system as long as there is no evidence of efficacy for it. What we can say: transitions can become calmer and easier to follow.
